Thank You Clean Galveston!
The East End Historical District Association is thrilled to be a 2024 grant recipient from Clean Galveston! We have used this generous gift to build a beautiful and functional brick border around 3 separate flowerbeds at Alderdice Park. We deeply appreciate this gift and to be recognized by this amazing local organization.
Congratulations Barbara and Lloyd!
Barbara Bryant and Lloyd Campo are proud to announce that they have now received the historical marker for their home at 1318 Sealy. This is the William and Adele Skinner Home, built in 1895, and was recently on the Galveston Historic Home Tour in 2018. Congratulations !
In Remembrance of our Furry Friends
The recent sale of the bricks for Darragh Park has allowed us to complete a memorial to our beloved past pets. Come by and visit when you have some time.
The committee overseeing the Turtles About Town project to bring the EEHDA one of the last turtle installations has done a great job with the design to complement the beauty of our neighborhood.
The subtle color scheme was chosen to complement, not distract from, the backdrop of our cottage. The design features the Darragh Park gates on the back and Alderice Park’s Rosenberg Fountain on its belly. Its flippers are decorated with yellow hibiscus, which from its perspective, offer a great compliment to the yellow blooms that flank the east of the property along the fence line in the warm season. Finally, the turtle is situated on a maroon pedestal with white accents mirroring the ironwork found in Darragh Park and softly calling out to the cottage shutters in the background.
