In addition to handsome tropical plantings, their yard is known for its lifelike dog tree sculpture that leans against the fence. The dog's costuming celebrates the seasons, holidays and even sports events in ways that bring smiles to visitors and neighbors alike.

The bird house in the front was designed and built by Floyd who is a wood craftsman. It will be auctioned at the East End's annual garden tour on Saturday, Oct. 5.

The Pollock's yard is always lovely. It's well-tended and tidy as is their across-the-street garden with its wildly blooming bougainvilleas, tomatoes, herbs and free range chickens.
"Sandra makes all the decisions and I carry them out," Floyd said. They have a gardener who helps keep the landscape mulched, watered and trimmed.

Thanks to all who came out to the November EEHDA Board Meeting and Social. At the Social, Council member Collins gave an update on the happenings at the City, including the 18th St Drainage Project, and then Galveston Port Director and CEO, Rodger Rees presented a review of the goings on at the Port in 2021, a look ahead to the future, and the impact that the Port has on the economy of Galveston.
